If you are arriving in France or planning to travel abroad, customs would like to remind you that it is important to find out all you need to know beforehand so that you can travel with complete peace of mind.

Importing and exporting counterfeit products is a customs offence.

The buyer :

  • Penalties of fines and imprisonment may be imposed for the mere possession of a forgery,
  • Can compromise health (fake alcohol, perfumes and cosmetics),
  • Undermines national industrial heritage and know-how, and funds criminal networks.

Since 15 June 2007, you have been required to declare to French customs any sums, securities or valuables worth €10,000 or more that you carry across the borders of the European Union. This applies whether or not you are a French resident.

  • Protected species of wild fauna and flora and products derived from them,
  • Live animals and animal products,

  • Wines, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and other regulated products.
